Donostia-San Sebastian is noted for its Cultural excellence and in 2016 will be recognized as one of the cultural capital cities of Europe. Its habitants as well as visitors can enjoy , theater , cinema , dance, and music all year long.
Some popular annual events held in the city are the Heineken Jazz Music Festival, the international film awards, the terror film festival, the film festival of human rights and the Surfilm festival.
Also found in Donostia-San –Sebastian and nearby towns are a variety of museums and historical landmarks including the San Telmo museum,the Cristobal Balenciaga museum, a Naval museum and a sea aquarium.
Amongst many impressive architectural structures throughout the area you´ll want to visit cathedrals and churches such as El Buen Pastor and also el Peine de vientos de Eduardo Chillada.
The kitchen enthusiast won´t want to miss a visit to the Basque Culinary Center where cooking courses are organized in Spanish, Basque and English languages.
Annual town festivals include San-Sebastian day (Euskal jaiak,Basque festival) and its famous tamborrada and a spectacular fireworks contest. Being a seaside capital San-Sebastian is also the home of Regatta races, an organized racing series of yachts, rowing boats, etc.
